Credits and pricing

Every search costs credits, priced by the work it actually takes. While Refolk is in early access, credits are free: a signup grant, a monthly refill, and self-serve weekly top-ups, with more on request. No credit card, no subscription.

How a search is priced

  • The cost scales with what the search used: the model tokens spent reasoning and the live source lookups performed, plus a small margin.
  • Quick lookups stay cheap - a simple search rarely breaks single digits.
  • Deep research scales - multi-step agentic research with web browsing can cost tens of credits, and the agent narrates what it’s doing as it goes.
  • Every charge is visible - each query is logged in your credit ledger with the conversation it came from.

The free tier

  • 500 credits at signup. No card required.
  • Refilled to 250 on the 1st of each month (UTC) whenever the balance is below that floor. The refill tops up to the floor; it doesn’t stack on top of an existing balance.
  • Up to 3 free 500-credit packs per week, self-granted instantly from Settings, on a rolling 7-day window.

No overdrafts

Credits are reserved before a search starts. If the balance is too low, the search doesn’t run - an account can never go negative mid-search.

Request a larger top-up from Settings and say what you’re working on. Requests are reviewed and credited within a few hours, free while Refolk is in early access. Current terms always live on the pricing page; material changes are posted there with notice.
