Terms of Service

Last updated May 2, 2026

Acceptance

By creating an account or using Refolk(“the service”) you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Refolkhelps you discover people, repositories, and organizations from public data sources via natural-language queries and an agentic search interface. Results are surfaced from third-party sources and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. We provide the service “as is” without warranty.

Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. One person per account.

Credits and payment

  • Searches are metered in credits. New accounts receive a free signup grant and a monthly floor refill.
  • Top-up purchases are processed by Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by law. Credits do not expire while your account is active.
  • We charge credits proportional to provider cost (LLM tokens + web search) plus margin. Pricing and rates may change with notice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to harass, dox, surveil, or harm individuals, or to compile dossiers in violation of applicable law (including GDPR/CCPA).
  • Scrape, mirror, or resell results in bulk; use the service to train or build a competing dataset; or circumvent credit metering or rate limits.
  • Violate the terms of underlying data sources (GitHub, LinkedIn, and other third-party providers) when acting on results returned by the service.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service; attempt to access accounts or data not your own; or interfere with normal operation.
  • Use the service to generate content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or that violates anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, and may revoke unused credits in cases of fraud or abuse.

Third-party data

Results returned by the service include information from third parties. You are responsible for how you use that information and for complying with applicable laws (including data-protection law) when contacting or otherwise acting on individuals surfaced by the service.

Intellectual property

We own the service and its software. You retain ownership of the queries and content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process them in order to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) US$100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate the service or your account for breach of these Terms or for legal or operational reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
