About this role
About Warp
Warp is the AI-native Employee Management Platform for ambitious companies. Our platform includes HRIS, payroll, IT, benefits, tax compliance, and more - all built from scratch on an AI-native architecture from day 1.
Warp embeds itself into every part of a company's people operating layer, we process over half a billion $ annually in payroll, on track to grow to $2B.
Legacy vendors in our space built their businesses by profiting from complexity. Warp is built from day one for AI to be the primary operator, not a feature. Every advance in LLM capability widens our lead.
We hire people who ship constantly, own outcomes, and care about craft. We're in the office five days a week because speed and proximity are a competitive advantage at this stage. If you want to build something that automates an entire category of core work, not just another point solution, this is the place.
We've raised over $85M from top investors like Ashton Kutcher/Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, founders of Dropbox, Replit, SV Angel, and Homebrew Capital. Built by an obsessive team from MIT, Ramp, Brex, Google, Dropbox, Apple, and more.
About the Role
Warp is a product-driven company building the future of automated back-office operations. We're looking for a design engineer who's excited to join our early story and help us maintain the highest quality bar possible.
As a Design Engineer at Warp, you'll be directly responsible for curating the user experience of the next generation of fintech products. You'll design core cross-platform product flows, landing pages, and marketing assets that convert prospects into customers and transform complex financial operations into seamless user journeys. Working at the intersection of design and engineering, you'll prototype user-experiences, establish design patterns that scale across our platform, and implement frontend experiences that measurably increase user satisfaction.
This role offers the rare opportunity to shape how customers experience financial technology while driving measurable business outcomes. You'll design and ship the user interfaces that make complex financial workflows intuitive, create design systems that scale across our product suite, and develop the frontend infrastructure that transforms product insights into delightful experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Core Product Design and Development: Design, build, and maintain core product design systems across web and mobile applications, ensuring consistent user experiences that scale with our rapid growth
Growth and Marketing Asset Design: Design social media assets, landing pages, event posters, and team merchandise that drive attention and growth while maintaining brand consistency across all touchpoints
Design System Evolution: Establish and maintain component libraries, design tokens, and documentation that enable consistent, efficient product development across the entire platform
Prototyping and Validation: Use design software and AI to rapidly prototype new features and interface concepts to validate design decisions before full implementation
Process and Tooling: Build internal design and development workflows that improve team velocity, from design handoff processes to automated testing for visual consistency
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with product, engineering, and sales teams to translate business requirements into elegant design solutions that balance user needs with technical constraints
Strategic Design Thinking: Contribute to long-term product vision by identifying opportunities to simplify complex financial workflows and reduce operational overhead for our users
Qualifications
2+ years of product design and engineering experience
Strong expertise in product design software (pref. Figma)
Experience writing CSS
Startup or digital agency experience as a founder, early engineer, or design roles
An understanding of fintech product user experience
Excellent communication skills
High agency and the ability to figure things out

About Warp
Warp is the AI-native employee management platform for ambitious companies. Payroll, compliance, benefits, and IT that handle themselves - so founders keep building and HR focuses on people. Warp's AI agents handle state registrations, tax filings, and compliance notices automatically across all 50 states. No portals. No paperwork. No busywork. Warp Fabric brings IT into the same platform: Google Workspace provisioning, Okta SSO across 6,500+ apps, and device management built natively in Rust. One hire provisions everything. One termination revokes it all. Same transaction. Thousands of companies trust Warp to run their people operations. Backed by Battery Ventures, Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, and the founders of Shopify, Dropbox, and more. As one customer put it: "Using Warp feels like the first time I used Linear or Superhuman. The realization that payroll can just work." We're hiring: warp.co/careers
