About this role

About Town

Town is building the AI coworker for every team. Everyone gets their own Townie, an AI assistant that learns how you work (your voice, judgment, relationships, and priorities) and does real work on your behalf across email, calendar, docs, Slack, and CRM. Townies don't wait to be prompted. They observe, learn, and act. And because every teammate has one, Townies can ask each other questions and hand off work, so the whole team moves faster together.

Four months after our public launch, we became a $1B company. We recently raised a $108M Series B, co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures, with continued support from Andreessen Horowitz, First Round Capital, and angels such as Zach Perret, Soleio Cuervo, Scott Belsky, and more. Our founders, Jean-Denis and Tony, previously led EPD at Plaid and applied AI product at Google.

About the role

Town's brand team is small, senior, and moving fast. In just a few months, we've shipped a launch film, a Series B announcement, out-of-home campaigns in two cities, a new homepage, and multiple product launches. We're working with a growing roster of agencies, studios, and independent creatives, with even bigger ambitions ahead. Teams across Town are counting on us to do great work, and we need someone who can help us take on more without slowing down.

As our first Brand Operations hire, you'll help us build how we work. You'll own how projects come in, how we prioritize them, how we manage our partners and budgets, and how we get great work out the door.

We're looking for someone who understands that every team works differently and knows how to build just enough process to keep people focused and moving. You'll question old ways of working, experiment with AI, and constantly improve how we operate as we grow. Above all, you'll help our creative team spend more time doing what they do best: making great work.

What you'll do

  • Make it easy to work with brand. Build a simple, effective way for teams across Town to request creative work, share what they need, and know what to expect. Help people come to us with clear asks, good briefs, and realistic timelines.

  • Help us focus on the right things. Work with creative leads and stakeholders to prioritize projects, manage competing requests, and make smart tradeoffs. Know when to make the call yourself and when to bring a recommendation to leadership.

  • Keep projects moving. Own planning and execution across campaigns, launches, and ongoing creative work. Help write briefs, coordinate kickoffs, manage timelines and dependencies, and get work across the finish line without unnecessary overhead.

  • Be the person everyone can count on. Build strong relationships across the company and with our creative partners. Keep everyone informed, gather and consolidate feedback, and help people make decisions so the team can stay focused on the work.

  • Own the brand budget. Build and manage our budget across agencies, studios, media, production, and contractors. Forecast spending, catch potential overruns early, and help us make thoughtful decisions about where we invest.

  • Build and manage our creative partnerships. Help us find, scope, and onboard agencies, studios, freelancers, and production partners. Work with Finance, Legal, and People to handle contracts, statements of work, and other agreements.

  • Keep the financial details running smoothly. Manage invoices, approvals, purchase orders, and payments. Make sure our partners get paid correctly and on time, and that we always have an accurate picture of our commitments and spending.

  • Rethink operations with AI. We're building a company around AI, and we want to work that way too. Use Town and your own Townie to automate repetitive work, coordinate projects, and experiment with entirely new ways of running creative operations.

  • Help us get better as we grow. Give the team a clear picture of what we're working on, what's coming next, where we're spending, and what's getting stuck. Use the tools we already work in, including Linear, Slack, Notion, and Town(of course), and keep refining how we work as the team evolves.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have extensive experience in creative operations, production, or brand/marketing operations, ideally at a fast-growing company or creative agency.

  • Have built processes and systems from scratch, and can point to how you've helped teams work better.

  • Know that great operations aren't one-size-fits-all. You understand when structure helps, when it gets in the way, and when it's time to rethink how things work.

  • Have managed meaningful budgets across multiple projects and partners, including forecasting, tracking spending, and handling invoices and payments.

  • Have worked closely with agencies, studios, freelancers, and production partners across different types of creative work, from digital and video to campaigns and physical production.

  • Are comfortable balancing competing priorities and working with senior stakeholders. You can make difficult calls, communicate clearly, and keep people moving in the same direction.

  • Have good creative instincts. You don't need to be a designer, but you understand how great creative work gets made and know how to give creative people the time, space, and support to do their best work.

  • Are excited about AI and how it can fundamentally change the way teams work. You're eager to experiment, learn, and build things that haven't been done before.

  • Are resourceful, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity. You see what needs to happen, take ownership, and figure things out without waiting for someone to tell you what to do.

  • Enjoy working closely with people. We're a highly collaborative team, and we work together in person four days a week.
