About this role
About Clay
AI is unleashing the biggest wave of company creation in history. Clay's mission is to be the engine those companies use to grow to their full potential.
Clay predicts the next best action for your business and then helps you take it. We started by aggregating the best data for B2B companies. Then, we built the infrastructure to run any personalized campaign on top of it, including emails, ads, landing pages, and workflows that make reps more productive. Now, we're building agents that can help grow your company for you. We're already helping thousands of customers - including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Visa - go to market with unique data, signals, and AI research.
In 2026, we raised a $115M Series D at $7.1B Valuation led by Wellington - and are on track to cross $200M in revenue this quarter. We also launched a $1M Scholarship fund for GTME Education.
Some things to know about us:
Our community includes 17,000+ customers, 200+ integration partners, 125+ agencies, 50+ Clay clubs, and 30k members on Slack.
Our culture is unique inside and outside of work. Our team members are also DJs, activists, writers, clowns, marathoners, skydivers, psychedelic therapists, social workers, and more.
All employees can work with world-class coaches who specialize in creativity, management, and more.
Our operating principles - including negative maintenance and non-attached action - guide our work. Read more about them here.

GTME Manager, Seller Efficiency @ Clay
We're excited for our Manager, GTM Engineering - Seller Efficiency to build and lead the team that makes our sales team faster, smarter, and more effective. You'll manage a team of GTM Engineers while staying technical - writing code on the hardest problems, setting direction, and making sure every automation we ship measurably improves how we sell. You'll partner closely with our Head of Sales to translate messy business problems into elegant technical solutions, and you'll develop engineers who think like builders, not ticket-takers.
What You'll Do
Build the automations that matter: own core sales workflow systems like book carving, ROE automation, signal detection, and pipeline intelligence - staying hands-on with the hardest technical problems and highest-leverage projects
Push Clay to its limits: dogfood new features, extend our platform into new use cases, feed our product team ideas from the field, and act as a practitioner-evangelist of Clay infrastructure and GTM Engineering
Partner with sales leadership: sit with our Head of Sales and sales leaders to understand where the motion breaks, translate fuzzy requirements into crisp technical roadmaps, and confidently say no to projects that don't move the needle
Manage the work, not just the people: build intake and prioritization frameworks that create transparency, align ad-hoc requests to strategy, and keep your team focused on impact over activity
Develop engineers who think like builders: hire, manage, and grow a team of 3-5 GTM Engineers; mentor them from ticket-takers to strategic problem-solvers who own outcomes, not tasks
Establish engineering excellence: set the bar for code quality, documentation, observability, and system governance; create growth paths aligned with each engineer's strengths
Ship systems that scale: design tooling that surfaces the right context at the right moment (before QBRs, during renewals, ahead of expansions); connect systems through APIs, webhooks, and automation so data flows cleanly
Measure what matters: track performance, adoption, and business impact of everything you build, then iterate ruthlessly based on feedback
Shape the future of AI-native GTM: act as an internal thought partner on where revenue systems are headed; bring both technical depth and commercial judgment to strategic conversations
Build a high-performing and supportive team, the clay way
What You'll Bring
8+ years building revenue systems: deep experience in RevOps, GTM Engineering, sales systems engineering, or similar applied technical work - you've personally written the code, not just managed vendors
You're technical enough to lead: strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, or TypeScript; you can review pull requests, debug production issues, and jump into the codebase when the problem demands it
You've shipped AI-powered systems: track record of deploying AI-powered internal tools, automations, or agentic workflows at scale; you understand data warehouses, BI tools, ETL/reverse ETL systems, and event-driven architectures
3+ years managing technical teams in hypergrowth: proven ability to hire and develop strong technical talent; your former reports have grown into senior IC or leadership roles; you build team culture, establish operational excellence, and drive accountability without micromanaging
You know how to say no: exceptional prioritization skills; you sequence work for maximum business impact and confidently decline low-leverage requests while keeping stakeholders informed
Executive (but still grounded) presence: you communicate concisely and confidently with non-technical GTM leaders, translate business requirements into clear technical direction, and are comfortable saying "I don't know yet!"
You thrive in the chaos: proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fluid, hypergrowth environments - you don't just embrace change, you create the systems that enable it
Bonus: experience building in Clay as a primary workflow or enrichment layer (successful candidates with no Clay experience will show increasing proficiency throughout the interview process); background in analytics engineering, data science, or full-stack software engineering; experience scaling a GTM Engineering function from 0→1 or 1→5+ people
