About You and The Role

As Zipline expands its medical delivery network to a national scale in Côte d’Ivoire, we need electrical systems that are safe, reliable, compliant, and fit for the local environments in which they operate. As the Electrical Deployment Lead, you will oversee the electrical execution of new Zipline sites, working directly with contractors, deployment teams, and internal engineering partners from design review through commissioning and operational handover.

This is a senior individual contributor role in which you will provide technical leadership through field oversight and vendor management, translating Zipline’s electrical designs and standards into practical local installations that meet applicable codes, regulations, infrastructure constraints, and site conditions. The role is highly field-oriented and requires strong technical judgment. You will identify and resolve installation risks, support the development and evaluation of RFPs and RFQs for electrical vendors, direct vendor execution, verify system performance, and ensure electrical work is delivered to the required safety, quality, schedule, and reliability standards.

What You'll Do

• Own the electrical execution of new Zipline sites in Côte d’Ivoire from design review and site preparation through installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Review electrical designs, drawings, bills of materials, and installation plans; identify risks related to Cotê d'Ivoiren codes, regulations, infrastructure, available materials, and site conditions; and coordinate required adaptations with Engineering.
• Support the development and evaluation of RFPs and RFQs for electrical contractors and vendors, including technical scopes, installation requirements, acceptance criteria, and cost inputs.
• Direct and oversee electrical contractors in the field, ensuring work is performed safely, correctly, and in accordance with approved designs, applicable codes, Zipline standards, and project schedules.
• Lead electrical inspections, commissioning, acceptance testing, defect resolution, and handover documentation for completed installations.
• Troubleshoot electrical and infrastructure issues during deployment and partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Country Leadership to resolve risks.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, installation, or field deployment, including strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
• Deep working knowledge of applicable Côte d’Ivoire electrical codes, Norme Ivoirienne standards, and regulations, together with familiarity with at least one widely used electrical code or standard, such as NF C 13-100/NF C 15-100, IEC 60364, the NEC, or BS 7671.
• Experience working with Côte d’Ivoire’s electrical utilities and inspection authorities, including CIE grid-connection processes and LBTP/SECUREL inspection and certification.
• Electrical safety training such as French electrical habilitation under NF C 18-510 (B2V/H2V strongly recommended and HE Essai/BE Essai preferred), or training under NFPA 70E, EN 50110, or an equivalent standard.
• International experience deploying complex electrical systems across varied operating environments or adapting foreign-sourced systems to local conditions, including facilities and industrial automation systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing electrical contractors and overseeing complex field installations, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across internal and external partners.
• Fluency in both French and English, written and verbal.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Côte d’Ivoire and be on-site for extended deployment phases; must be based in or able to relocate to Côte d’Ivoire for the role.
