About this role
Zafran is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Discover Team, a highly impactful team that builds the asset discovery and endpoint intelligence the platform relies on. The team plays a critical role in a product that is actively being built and evolving, working closely with the business and responding quickly to field needs.
In this role, you will build and optimize collection sensors that run across hundreds of thousands of devices, gathering rich system data through low-level system interactions. You’ll shape a core part of the platform, from the code on the endpoint to the data the product acts on.
About Zafran:
Our Mission: To stop the exploitation of vulnerabilities, everywhere.
What makes us different: Zafran de-risks 90% of critical vulnerabilities overnight across your hybrid environment and utilizes Agentic Capabilities and your existing security tools to rapidly mitigate and remediate the 10% most likely to be exploited.
Who’s behind us: Zafran is backed by Menlo Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, and a deep belief that cybersecurity should move as fast as attackers do. We’re one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, scaling to meet demand from the world’s most advanced, security-obsessed organizations.
We’re serious about our mission- so expect work that matters, teammates who challenge and inspire you, and plenty of fun along the way!
What you will do:
Design, build, and improve systems that provide deep visibility into endpoints and environments.
Develop and optimize collection sensors that run at scale across hundreds of thousands of devices.
Write low-level components and system-level code when needed.
Own features end to end, from design through production and ongoing improvement.
Work closely with product, research, and field teams to respond quickly to real customer needs.
Drive fast iterations within a product that is actively being built and evolving.
Contribute to the technical direction of the discovery domain within the platform.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in Endpoint Security or developing low-level system code.
Strong understanding of operating systems and endpoint environments.
Hands-on experience working close to the system level (low-level development).
Solid backend development skills and experience building production systems.
Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and respond quickly to field and customer needs.
Strong technical problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Experience with the following is a plus:
Security research experience.
Experience building endpoint sensors, vulnerability scanners or EDR agents.
As published by Zafran Security. Applications are handled on their site.
