About the role:

WireScreen’s Research team sits at the heart of our business. It’s where data comes to life. Research Associates work with our talented engineers to enrich WireScreen data with industry intelligence, Chinese market insights, and relevant supply chain risk information based on a rapidly evolving global economy.

This team owns WireScreen Collections, a fundamental differentiator for WireScreen and highly valued by our customers. Researchers curate these structured datasets of companies, people, and relationships by tracing ownership, subsidiaries, and affiliations across borders and jurisdictions. Collections can uncover risks embedded within ownership chains, investors, partners, and suppliers - for example, surfacing military connections - or provide insight into a company’s investments and involvement in specific sectors such as electric vehicle supply chains or the quantum industry ecosystem.

Success in this role positions you to develop unique insights into global supply chains, and the connections between key businesses, governments & people powering the global economy.

What You'll Do:

• Collection Development: Design, build, and maintain curated datasets of companies, individuals, and corporate networks using hands-on investigative research.

• Collection & Profile Maintenance: Regularly update and refine WireScreen Collections based on rigorous criteria and user feedback.

• Data Pipeline & Quality: Partner with engineering to ensure data quality, monitor source health, and enforce accuracy guardrails.

• Customer Support & Enablement: Educate customer-facing teams on how data collections are built and validated, and partner cross-functionally to scope and develop new collections based on customer demand and research capabilities.

• Document Analysis: Analyze a range of corporate documents in both Chinese and English to verify and ensure data integrity.

You Should Apply If You ...

• Are fluent in English & Mandarin and able to read and interpret content across Chinese- and English-language sources.

• Have 4+ years of experience in investigations, corporate due diligence, business intelligence, forensic research, KYC/AML, or similar primary-source research roles.

• Are adaptable, comfortable wearing multiple hats, and bring a team-first mentality with a willingness to jump in wherever needed in a growing startup environment.

• Can manage competing priorities, move with urgency, and consistently delivery high-quality work.

• Enjoy deep, manual investigative work and know how to adapt your approach, think resourcefully, and pursue alternative paths to overcome investigative challenges. independently.

• Have high business acumen, and interest in global trade, supply chain and corporate data.

• Have proven analytical skills and attention to detail, especially around identity resolution and data accuracy.

• Have strong technical proficiency and the ability to adapt to new tools and software swiftly.
