Behind every scam, ransomware attack, and terrorist financing network, there's a trail of money. The people who follow that trail are investigators at law enforcement and government agencies, and compliance teams at crypto businesses and financial institutions. They do some of the most important work there is, and they do it with our products. As Senior Product Designer, you'll design the tools that help them find what matters faster and act on it before threat actors can do more harm. The problems are hard, the data is massive and messy, the decisions carry real consequences, and users can't afford to get it wrong. As AI takes on more of this work, you'll help define how people and agents get it done together. Your work will show up in solved cases, in criminal networks taken apart, and in communities that are safer because of it.

What you'll own

• End-to-end design for core workflows across our public and private sector products, from first sketch to what ships

• The agentic experience in your areas: how users hand work to AI, check what it did, and decide whether to trust it

• Reusable patterns you contribute back to the design system, built so both designers and AI tools can use them

• The quality bar on what ships, through tight build reviews with engineering

How you'll work

Designing for experts: Our users are investigators and compliance analysts working through huge volumes of transactions, entities, and risk signals, often under time pressure. You'll learn their workflows well enough to see what they need before they ask for it, and you'll make dense, complex data feel clear without dumbing it down.

Designing for humans and agents: More and more of the work in our product is done by an agent on the user's behalf. You'll design how that agent shows its reasoning, sources, and confidence; where a person steps in to review, correct, or redirect; and what happens when it's wrong. In this domain, trust is the hardest thing to get right.

Building with AI: AI is already part of how you work. You use it to explore directions, generate variants, and get to something clickable fast, so PMs and engineers can react to a working prototype instead of a description. AI speeds you up, but the quality bar is still yours to set.

Shipping with the team: You'll work across both our public sector and private sector pods, embedded with PMs and engineers in the same discovery and launch cycles, and your work doesn't end at handoff. You'll be in the Slack threads and huddles while the team builds, adjusting designs on the spot and explaining your reasoning clearly. You decide whether a problem needs the 1-day, 1-week, or 1-month version, and you design that one.

What we're looking for

Craft in complex products. Your portfolio shows data-heavy B2B product work done well: sharp information architecture and interactions that hold up under real use.

Ownership. You drive design forward without waiting to be told, and you pull PMs, engineers, and other designers in early. You own the outcome without working alone.

Agentic fluency. You've designed product surfaces where AI or automation does real work for the user, or you have a clear point of view on how that design problem differs from traditional UI.

Systems thinking. You treat each solution as a pattern the rest of the product can reuse. You've contributed to or scaled a design system and know what makes one get used.

Speed with judgment. You move fast and know when polish matters and when it doesn't. You'd rather put a rough version in front of the team today than a perfect one next week.

About the team

You'll join a high-output team of product designers inside TRM's Product org, which also includes Product Management, Product Marketing, and TRM Academy. You'll have a focus area, but no one here guards territory. You'll jump in wherever the work is most urgent, even on product surfaces you don't usually work on, and we give each other direct, fast feedback. We hold each other to a high bar.

What TRM speed looks like in this role

• A PM shares a spec on Monday morning. By Tuesday you've posted mocks in the thread, along with an AI-built prototype that answers the open questions faster than a meeting would.

• Mid-build, an engineer finds the data can't support the approved design. You're in the huddle within the hour with two alternatives and a recommendation, and the team doesn't lose a day.

• An agent feature is ready to ship, but testers can't tell why it flagged a wallet. You design the explanation layer (sources, confidence, a path to dig deeper), and it's in engineering's hands that week.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

• Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The compensation details listed in this posting reflect the US base salary only.

• The estimated base salary range for this role is $176,000-$193,000

• Additionally, this role may be eligible to participate in TRM’s equity plan.

• Please note - we factor in the different costs for geographies outside the United States.

Our R&D team is distributed not distant and will participate in work weeks, typically 1 - 2 times per quarter, at a TRM hub or other designated location. Work weeks may be scheduled with as little as 14 days’ notice, and some roles may require additional travel based on team and cross-functional needs.
