About this role

We design Spotify’s consumer experience - end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints - from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager who will join the Play Product Area within the Core Experience Studio to help evolve the experience of audio and media playback on Spotify. You will help define and evolve the experiences that make playing on Spotify more engaging, rewarding, and valuable for users, creators, and Spotify. Above all, your work will impact how hundreds of millions users experience music and media.

What You'll Do

  • Work with a cross-functional team that looks after our audio playback capabilities

  • Work with engineering, design, data science and user research to ensure the experience is scalable, usable, and useful for a range of strategies

  • Lead multiple projects across the entire product lifecycle

  • Triangulate data and insights to develop a robust product strategy and inform decision-making as well as short- and long-term roadmaps

  • Manage cross-functional and cross-org relationships to keep teams and leaders informed, receive input, and influence their thinking

Who You Are

  • You are an experienced product manager with the ability to work with cross-functional teams, lead complex projects across multiple strategies and stakeholders, and make data-driven decisions

  • You are an expert in audio experiences, with a strong understanding of both the engineering aspects of audio processing and editing, as well as their impact on the user listening experience. For example, you understand how features like crossfading and beatmatching influence the flow and feel of an audio session, while also ensuring high overall audio quality

  • Experience from developing video playback experiences (in addition to audio) is a plus; e.g. low-latency video delivery, DRM, and optimizing playback for improved QoE

  • You have led the product work of several products in large tech companies that you can tell us about

  • You have a deep understanding of product practices and know how to incorporate multiple different perspectives (including user research, data and strategy) into one single product vision and experience

  • You care about creating engaging, rewarding, and valuable experiences for users, creators, and Spotify

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in Stockholm or London.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
