About this role
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
GLOBAL SUPPLY MANAGER, HARNESS (STARLINK)
SpaceX is leveraging our experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system. We provide reliable and fast internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are unreliable, too expensive, or disconnected by natural disasters. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, thousands of satellites and consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing. The Starlink team is seeking out the best-in-class professionals to maximize Starlink’s potential for communities and businesses around the globe.
As a Global Sourcing Manager, you will be part of an agile, yet robust, supply chain team that will enable a competitive advantage for the company. - Partner with the internal program teams, engineering and supply chain leadership to lead sourcing decisions for critical vendors, ensuring strong alignment with program priorities, material requirements, and overall company strategic objectives

- Collaborate with the operations team to develop automated Line of Balance (LOB) tracking tools for materials at vendors, addressing the challenges of rapidly changing BOMs
- Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support both existing platforms and new product development (NPI)
- Provide weekly team status reporting, escalate issues to management when necessary, and communicate program health clearly to leadership
- Utilize negotiations to maximize value, cost savings, delivery priority, and risk reduction while ensuring alignment with program budgets
- Conduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for the harness and connector commodity
- Create sourcing strategies that reduce risk, enable continuous cost reduction, and align with company goals on payment terms, cash targets, on-time delivery, and cost savings
- Build genuine relationships both internally and externally and drive cross-functional teams to achieve consensus
- Present value propositions to SpaceX executives, including contract awards, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies, and critical supply issues
- Keep up with industry and commodity market trends while developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with major suppliers

About SpaceX
SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk to revolutionize space transportation, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary. SpaceX has gained worldwide attention for a series of historic milestones. It is the only private company ever to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, which it first accomplished in December 2010. The company made history again in May 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft attached to the International Space Station, exchanged cargo payloads, and returned safely to Earth - a technically challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments. Since then Dragon has delivered cargo to and from the space station multiple times, providing regular cargo resupply missions for NASA. For more information, visit www.spacex.com.
