About this role

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset - who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to join Frontier Engineering in Sydney. You will lead the technical program across Forward Deployed Engineering engagements, working embedded with strategic customers' engineering teams to take data and AI solutions into production. You will partner with Engagement Managers and Program Managers, and connect customer needs to Snowflake's global Product & Engineering teams.

Frontier Engineering delivers Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) engagements across Data Transformation and Agentic Transformation for strategic enterprise customers. You will work alongside Engagement Managers, who own the customer relationship and engagement commercials, and Program Managers, who own program coordination, reporting, and operating cadence. You will own technical execution across workstreams, including integration, engineering readiness, dependencies, and production delivery.

AS A SENIOR TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

  • Own the integrated technical plan, cross-workstream dependencies and technical risk across multiple FDE workstreams building on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.

  • Drive workstreams from engineering readiness through integration, release, production cutover, and operational handoff, resolving blockers across customer and Snowflake engineering teams. Lead release and production cutover of Snowflake-based data and AI solutions.

  • Identify and prioritize customer-driven product gaps and defects, distinguish one-off requirements from recurring product issues, and drive resolution with global Snowflake Product & Engineering teams across time zones.

  • Give technical estimates, effort and risk input to Engagement Managers and Program Managers to protect delivery feasibility.

  • Provide commercial awareness of SOW/exhibit scope, change control and delivery done at risk.

  • Identify scope changes, delivery-at-risk decisions, and emerging technical constraints; provide the impact assessment needed by Engagement Managers to manage SOW scope and change control.

  • Report technical status clearly to Snowflake and customer stakeholders, from engineering teams to executives.

  • Use AI-assisted workflows, including Snowflake Cortex capabilities, to improve delivery tooling and execution.

  • Help establish the FDE Technical Program Management practice in ANZ.

OUR IDEAL SENIOR TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER WILL HAVE:

  • Typically 8+ years leading complex, multi-workstream technical programs.

  • Hands-on delivery leadership of technical programs into production, such as data platform, MLOps, GenAI/AI, or software and application development projects.

  • Experience leading technical delivery within enterprise customer environments, navigating customer-owned infrastructure, access constraints, and shared delivery responsibilities (e.g. consultancy, SI, vendor professional services).

  • Strong dependency and technical risk management across multiple engineering teams.

  • Technical depth to challenge engineering estimates, assess architectural and integration trade-offs, identify delivery risks, and drive sequencing decisions with engineering leads.

  • The conviction to challenge customers, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders when assumptions, technical decisions, or delivery plans don't hold up.

  • Operates independently in ambiguous environments, exercises sound judgment without waiting for consensus, and takes ownership of getting to an outcome.

BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • Experience leading forward-deployed engineering engagements, with direct responsibility for integrating solutions into customer environments and taking them to production.

  • Strong point of view and the confidence to challenge customers and senior stakeholders when technical decisions or delivery commitments don't hold up.

  • Willingness to challenge conventional approaches, identify what's not working, and push for a better technical or delivery strategy.

  • Delivery in regulated financial services (e.g. banking, APRA-regulated environments).

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake (Cortex, Openflow) or other cloud data platforms.

  • An engineering manager or tech lead background in data platform or software/application development.

  • Consultancy or Big-4 technical program leadership.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
