About this role
About the HRIS Product Team at Rippling:
Rippling is rapidly expanding its customer base, supporting larger enterprise customers, and launching new lines of business across its 20+ products, all while scaling globally. At the hear of this ecosystem is Employee Records, a foundational element that powers not only HR products but also integrates seamlessly with every product to deliver a unified, cohesive experience.
The HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) team plays a critical role in managing all aspects of employee data, including hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and transitions. The team's mission is to ensure the correctness and completeness of employee records, which serve as the backbone of Rippling’s ecosystem.
HRIS operates at the forefront of Rippling’s growth, building new products at high velocity to support expansion into new verticals and customer segments while maintaining the integrity of data. As the entry point for any new customer or product integration, the HRIS team is pivotal to delivering Rippling’s vision of a unified platform for modern workforce management.

The Role
As a Software Engineer (L5), you are a core driver of our platform’s execution. You will contribute to a technical ecosystem that powers the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that every integration and API built on Rippling is consistent, reliable, and high-performing.
What You Will Do
- Power the SDLC: Build and maintain the core features of our integration and API frameworks, helping teams deploy new capabilities with high velocity and standardized patterns.
- Marketplace Innovation: Contribute to the logic that powers the App Shop, improving how customers discover, purchase, and install the tools they need to run their businesses.
- AI-Driven Tooling: Work on integrating AI into our developer workflows to simplify third-party connectivity and make the integration process more intelligent.
- Automation-First Mindset: Support our "Zero KTLO" mission by identifying and automating manual processes, ensuring our platform is resilient and easier for everyone to maintain.
- Execution Excellence: Take ownership of platform features - from building the standardized paths for API V2 endpoints to enhancing the consistency of how customers interact with third-party apps.
What You Will Need
- 0-2 years of professional experience in backend engineering.
- Strong Foundations: A solid grasp of CS fundamentals and proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Go preferred).
- Execution Excellence: You take pride in shipping clean, well-tested code and documentation that other developers can rely on.
- Curiosity & Drive: You are eager to work on high-leverage platform problems and have a passion for creating great experiences for both developers and end-users.
Why Join the Integration Platform Team?
- Massive Leverage: You aren't building a feature for one user; you're building the infrastructure that acts as a multiplier for thousands of developers and millions of employees.
- AI as a Core Pillar: We are at the forefront of using AI to revolutionize the entire integration lifecycle.
- End-to-End Ownership: You will own the entire journey - from how a developer builds an API to how a customer discovers and installs it in the Marketplace.
- Engineering Excellence: We prioritize "Zero KTLO" automation and clean, reusable architecture. You’ll build things the right way, for the long term.
