About this role
In 2026, we launched Computer, the defining product for the new era of agentic AI. We’ve scaled beyond the millions of people using Perplexity every day for research, shopping, investing and curiosity into a new paradigm of using AI to transform knowledge into action.
Product Managers at Perplexity work closely with design and engineering, focusing on the product systems and experiences that help more people discover, adopt, and get lasting value from Perplexity. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and writing skills, the ability to envision innovative technology, and a willingness to reimagine work to be more efficient and creative. Ideal candidates combine product intuition with analytical rigor: in the application, please highlight the growth problems, experiments, or loops you are most proud of building.
What you’ll do
Own the upsell roadmap: build new upsell levers and iterate relentlessly on existing ones to drive our metrics forward.
Run onboarding experiments that get new users to a first successful outcome faster, from signup and intent routing to first-session guidance.
Build personalized recommendations that drive deeper usage: connector recommendations, follow-up suggestions, and segment-aware surfaces.
Own the upgrade flows that drive paid conversion, free to paid, plan upgrades, and paid credit purchases.
Drive adoption of new Computer features as they launch: decide who sees what, when, and through which surface, and measure whether adoption turns into retention and paid usage.
Drive cross-device conversion: get web users onto the mobile and desktop apps (and back) through in-product prompts, lifecycle messaging, and onboarding.
Analyze funnels, cohorts, and segments to find the highest-leverage opportunities; define metrics, denominators, and cohort windows.
Hold guardrails on retention, support volume, and margin; improve conversion without degrading the product.
Write crisp specs, tickets, and experiment briefs; coordinate execution across engineering, design, data, and marketing.
Qualifications
2 - 4 years of total work experience with a strong academic record.
~2 years in investment banking, strategy consulting, or a comparable high-intensity analytical role, followed by operating experience - a growth or product role at a startup, or founding your own company.
Extremely analytical. Fluent in SQL, comfortable with experiment design and statistical readouts.
Segment-native. You think in user journeys, personas, and behavioral triggers, and you know a lift on the average can hide a loss on a segment.
Strong product taste. You can tell the difference between an upsell that helps a user and one that annoys them, and you care about the second-order effects of what you ship.
High velocity. Comfortable owning many parallel experiments and moving between analysis, spec-writing, and shipping in the same week.
Bias to action, low ego, high ownership. Thrives in ambiguity where processes are still being defined.
Nice to have
Direct experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms (Eppo, Statsig, Optimizely, or in-house equivalents).
Experience with subscription and usage-based billing products, paywalls, or paid upgrade experimentation.
Experience shipping across web and native mobile surfaces.
Our Mission
Perplexity's mission is to power curiosity. Curious people are the people who drive change in the world. Driving change is a continuous cycle of learning, building, and integrating.
Learn: curious people constantly learn new things by asking more. They question the status quo in their own expertise and they constantly learn outside of it. Research is essential to them and never ending.
Build: curious people make and create things, to show the world their new answers to problems no one else ever questioned. They take action on what they've learned. Makers need tools to create their products, their companies, their reality.
Integrate: they must interact with the world as it is to drive change and adoption. True leaders do not simply build something and hope. They must have armies of agents and workers who can constantly work in millions of small ways.
Repeat. For curious people this is a cycle that never ends.
