Government Regulations & Product Safety Compliance Coordinator Leading the Future in Luxury Electric and Mobility At Lucid, we set out to create the most captivating luxury electric vehicles - vehicles that elevate the human experience, break conventional boundaries, and shape the future of sustainable mobility. Role Summary Lucid Motors is looking for a highly motivated Government Regulations & Product Safety Compliance Coordinator to support regulatory, safety, and product release compliance within a fast-paced electric vehicle manufacturing environment. This role serves as the operational bridge between Homologation, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Production, and Product Release teams to ensure applicable government regulatory requirements are properly translated into manufacturing controls and verified before product release. The Government Regulations & Product Safety Compliance Coordinator will work across the full product lifecycle, from early design and forward-model planning through prototype development, launch, production, and final vehicle release. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory and safety compliance requirements are embedded into manufacturing processes, inspection points, control plans, error-proofing strategies, and release gates. This position is especially critical in an EV manufacturing environment, where regulatory compliance includes traditional vehicle certification requirements as well as EV-specific controls related to high-voltage safety, electric powertrain integrity, battery-related safety requirements, EV labeling, charging-related information, and product release readiness. You Will Drive Regulatory and Product Compliance Readiness - Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes, procedures, and verification controls related to government regulatory, safety, and EV product compliance requirements. - Partner closely with Homologation to ensure all applicable regulatory requirements are understood, documented, and translated into manufacturing, inspection, and product release requirements. - Establish and maintain government regulatory compliance checklists by model, market, destination, product configuration, and EV-specific regulatory requirement . - Participate in forward-model, launch, and product release readiness reviews to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated before production and customer release. Verify Certification, Labeling, and Market Requirements - Verify that required regulatory and certification elements are included and controlled within production processes, including certification labels, tire and loading labels, Monroney/window stickers, EPA Fuel Economy & Environment labels applicable to EVs, VIN accuracy, market-specific regulatory content, and destination/export-specific regulatory requirements. - Support compliance readiness for EV-specific regulatory and safety elements, including high-voltage safety, electric powertrain integrity, battery-related safety controls, electrical isolation, charge-related interfaces, and emergency response information, as applicable. - Maintain objective evidence of regulatory checks, safety process audits, release approvals, escalations, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness. Conduct Audits and Process Verification - Coordinate and perform surveillance audits of production processes based on safety, regulatory, homologation, EV compliance, and product release risk. - Audit and verify process controls for safety, government regulatory, and significant product/process characteristics, including critical torques, restraint-related processes, high-voltage component installation controls, battery pack and propulsion system-related controls, safety-related inspection points, bypasses, engineering deviations, delta processes, rework and repair processes, and final product release controls. - Work with Production, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Homologation teams to ensure proper error-proofing, process controls, inspections, and reaction plans are in place for safety and government regulatory processes. Lead Issue Escalation and Corrective Action - Escalate and support containment of potential regulatory, labeling, safety, EV compliance, or product release risks. - Create and lead cross-functional response teams when safety, regulatory, homologation, labeling, EV compliance, or product release issues are detected. - Coordinate with responsible departments to define corrective actions, verify effectiveness, and prevent recurrence of systemic regulatory or safety compliance issues. - Support internal audits, external audits, regulatory inquiries, quality system audits, and leadership reviews related to government regulatory, EV safety, and product compliance readiness. - Coordinate country-specific regulatory audits, third-party inspections, and compliance verification activities. - Travel up to 25%, occasionally on short notice. Product Release Compliance Gatekeeping The Government Regulations & Product Safety Compliance Coordinator acts as a product release compliance gatekeeper for safety, government regulatory, and EV-specific compliance elements. This role verifies that applicable regulatory, homologation, labeling, safety, high-voltage, and critical process requirements have been implemented, checked, and documented before releasing product to the customer or market. This includes verification of: - Correct certification label installation and content. - Correct tire/loading label installation and content. - Correct Monroney/window sticker application. - Correct EPA EV Fuel Economy & Environment label information, as applicable. - VIN and vehicle configuration accuracy. - Closure of open regulatory or safety-related quality holds. - Closure of applicable engineering deviations or change controls. - Completion of required safety/significant characteristic checks. - Completion of applicable EV safety checks related to high-voltage systems, battery-related controls, and electric powertrain integrity. - Completion of required release evidence package. Success in this position ensures vehicles released to customers and markets meet applicable certification, safety, homologation, and compliance requirements while minimizing risk, improving operational readiness, and protecting Lucid’s reputation for quality and innovation. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Compliance, or a related technical field. - 5+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing, quality, regulatory, homologation, launch, or product compliance environment. - Experience working with government regulatory compliance topics, preferably including FMVSS, certification labeling, tire/loading labels, Monroney/window stickers,...
