ABOUT THE ROLE
At LayerZero, our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is at the intersection of software and systems engineering, dedicated to crafting and maintaining large-scale, resilient systems. Our goal is to ensure that all LayerZero services - ranging from critical internal systems to those external users interact with - are reliable, meet the uptime expectations of our users, and continuously evolve at a swift pace. Our SRE professionals will monitor our system's capacity and performance to uphold these standards.
Our software development efforts aim to enhance system efficiency, develop robust infrastructure, and reduce manual workload through automation. As a member of the SRE team, you'll tackle the unique challenges of scaling at LayerZero. You'll leverage your skills in coding, algorithmic problem-solving, complexity analysis, and designing systems at scale. The success of our SRE team is deeply rooted in a culture that values intellectual curiosity, effective problem-solving, and an openness to different ideas. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build, monitor, and maintain blockchain node infrastructure for a variety of DLTs, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with product and platform engineers to proactively address reliability, scalability, and observability.
- Develop scalable infrastructure using code, with a focus on Kubernetes Helm charts.
- Automate incident detection, triage, and resolution processes.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for systems owned by the team.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
- Deep familiarity with blockchain node infrastructure (e.g., running validator/full/archive nodes, RPC optimization, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in Typescript or Golang development - with ability to build tools, services, or automation.
- Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux internals and systems administration.
- Strong background in distributed system design and high availability architecture.
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes, including Helm chart authoring.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
The base salary for this position ranges from $120,000/year up to $200,000/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. LayerZero is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
