About this role

Instawork is on a mission to create meaningful economic opportunities for skilled hourly professionals in communities around the globe. Our AI-powered labor marketplace helps local businesses scale, and enables global technology companies to push the frontiers of robotics and AI. Backed by world-class investors like Benchmark, Spark Capital, Craft Ventures, Greylock, Y Combinator, and others, we’re looking for exceptional talent to reimagine the way the world works.

At our labor marketplace tech company, we believe that even in the age of AI, the core of success comes down to good people doing honest work. We're seeking a detail-oriented and automation-savvy Product Operations Analyst to help us optimize our operational processes and ensure data accuracy across our platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career at the intersection of operations, data, and intelligent automation.

Who You Are:

  • Automation Enthusiast: You're passionate about eliminating manual work through automation. You've built workflows using tools like n8n, Zapier, or Make.com, and you're always looking for the next process to optimize.
  • AI-Powered Problem Solver: You actively leverage AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or other LLMs to enhance your productivity, solve complex problems, and generate insights. You see AI as a powerful co-pilot in your daily work.
  • Data-Driven & Analytical: You're comfortable diving into databases using SQL, analyzing trends in Excel or Google Sheets, and creating dashboards to visualize operational metrics. You use data to drive decisions and measure impact.
  • Technical Tinkerer: You enjoy building solutions using no-code/low-code platforms like Replit, Retool, or similar tools. You're not afraid to write simple scripts or work with APIs to connect systems and automate workflows.
  • Process Optimizer: You have a natural instinct for identifying inefficiencies and redesigning processes. You're organized, detail-oriented, and obsessed with creating scalable, repeatable systems.
  • Self-Starter & Collaborative: You can work independently to manage multiple projects while also partnering effectively with cross-functional teams including Biz-Ops, product, sales, and payroll.

What You'll Do:

  • Own Data Quality & Integrity: Implement and maintain robust processes for validating and verifying data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all platforms. Develop and enforce data quality standards that become the foundation of operational excellence.
  • Build & Deploy Automation Solutions: Design and implement automation workflows using N8n, Zapier, or custom scripts to eliminate repetitive manual tasks. Identify bottlenecks in current processes and create scalable automation solutions that improve team efficiency.
  • Leverage AI for Operational Excellence: Utilize AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and other LLMs to automate data processing, generate insights, create documentation, and enhance decision-making. Experiment with new AI capabilities to continuously improve operational workflows.
  • Manage End-to-End Projects: Own short-term and long-term operational projects with comprehensive documentation and strict adherence to timelines. Define performance metrics, accuracy benchmarks, and provide proactive updates to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation, better tooling, and process redesign. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that reduce manual work and improve data accuracy.
  • Partner Across Functions: Work closely with Biz-Ops, product management, engineering, billing ops, and sales teams to understand data requirements and operational needs. Collaborate on initiatives that enhance data accessibility and usability for all stakeholders.

Nice To Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred but not required if you have equivalent practical experience.
  • Scripting & Development Skills: Experience with Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages for building custom automation solutions and data processing scripts.
  • API & Integration Expertise: Hands-on experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and system integrations to connect disparate platforms and automate data flows.
  • Data Visualization Skills: Experience creating dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar visualization tools to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Startup Experience: Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment where you wore multiple hats and adapted quickly to changing priorities.

Our Values

  • Empathy, Trust & Candor
We put ourselves in the shoes of our colleagues and customers and don’t shy away from uncomfortable conversations, instead building trust through honest and direct feedback.

  • Bias for Action
We practice high-velocity decision-making, clear-eyed that we often operate with incomplete information. Growing quickly means it’s OK to be wrong, so long as we learn from our mistakes and course correct!

  • Always Be Learning
We’re a curious bunch, and with AI transforming our workplace we encourage everyone to learn from each other, compounding our knowledge and experience to help us change an entire industry.

  • Act Like an Owner
We work long, hard, and smart, building products that delight our users and drive growth. Your ability to impact Instawork is limited only by your courage and conviction, not your job description.
