We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with a strong background in High-Net-Worth (HNW) individual taxation and partnerships. This individual will manage complex tax engagements, provide proactive tax planning and advisory services, maintain key client relationships, and mentor members of the tax team.

The ideal candidate brings significant public accounting experience working with HNW individuals, partnerships, pass-through entities, and closely held businesses, along with the technical expertise and client-facing skills to serve as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns, with a strong focus on HNW individuals and partnerships.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for HNW individuals, business owners, partnerships, and other key clients.

• Provide proactive tax planning and identify tax-saving opportunities throughout the year.

• Advise clients on partnership and pass-through taxation, entity structuring, transactions, and related tax matters.

• Research and resolve complex federal and multi-state tax issues.

• Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.

• Review workpapers and tax returns for technical accuracy and compliance.

• Develop strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.

• Mentor and develop tax professionals through delegation, coaching, and technical guidance.

• Collaborate with partners and firm leadership on complex client matters and planning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field.

• CPA license required.

• 6+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.

• Significant hands-on experience with HNW individual taxation (1040) and partnership taxation (1065/K-1s).

• Experience with pass-through entities, closely held businesses, and complex individual tax matters.

• Strong tax planning, research, and advisory experience.

• Experience reviewing complex returns and managing multiple client engagements.

• Strong client relationship and communication skills.

• Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience.

• Multi-state taxation experience preferred.

• Trust, estate, family office, and real estate partnership experience is a plus.

• Master's degree in Taxation preferred.

• Candidates located in New Jersey or with experience serving New Jersey clients are strongly preferred.
