About this role

Who We Are

Cross River builds the infrastructure behind the world’s most innovative financial products. Our technology and capital solutions power payments, cards, lending, and digital asset capabilities that move money safely, instantly, and inclusively - trusted by leading fintechs, enterprises, and disruptors across the globe.

Our mission is simple: to build the financial infrastructure that expands access and opportunity for all. Guided by a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and purpose, Cross River has been named one of American Banker’s Best Places to Work in Fintech year after year. Whether you’re designing code, solving regulatory puzzles, or developing strategy, you’ll join a team where innovation and integrity drive everything we do - and where your work helps shape the future of finance.

What We're Looking For

The Relationship Manager will be a motivated self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment to manage new Enterprise accounts and build upon our existing client partnerships (official title: "AVP, Strategic Partnerships"). They will hit the ground running on high-impact partnerships with exposure to various teams across Cross River. They will be asked to wear many hats and quickly learn our business, ecosystems and clients. Relationship and decision-making skills will be put to the test; and they will need to handle vague and nuanced situations. They will be our front line to our Banking as a Service Fintech clients and need to be able to quickly build trust.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact for a select group of our Fintech Banking clients.
  • Own retention and growth KPIs by identifying organic and inorganic growth patterns.
  • Stay up to speed with your client’s business model, strategy, and market performance, identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Interpret data (market data, competitive data, proprietary data, and client-supplied data) to create a clear view on status and performance.
  • Advocate for your clients within the bank; liaise with other departments to resolve issues, implement changes, and integrate technology.
  • Work with legal counsel to draft contracts that are up for renewal, and amendments to existing contracts.
  • Develop and nurture the Cross River relationship at multiple levels, including senior management.
  • Perform weekly/monthly review as well as quarterly business review (QBR).
  • Review accounts to ensure AML/BSA regulations are being observed.
  • Perform periodic visits to deepen relationships and engage in strategic planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience managing high-profile relationships in the fintech industry, ideally with knowledge of payments, card issuing and banking services.
  • Banking as a Service, Card Issuing or managing Processors.

Preferred Experience:

  • Current or previous experience working for a Banking as Service provider, Program Manager, or Procurer.
  • Exposure to key fintech components inclusive of pricing, payment networks, latest technologies, leading global players, emerging trends, and regulatory nuance.
  • Knowledge of BIN Sponsorship and Banking as a Service programs.
  • Understanding of how Cross River can deliver best-in-class solutions to grow its financial solutions offering.
  • Willingness to travel.

Skills We Are Looking For:

  • Agility and adaptability in a rapidly growing, constantly changing environment.
  • Cross-functional experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
