We are looking to add a Senior Trade Compliance Administrator to our team. In this role you will perform complex trade compliance activities involving export licensing, regulatory classification, technology transfers, and compliance reviews across aerospace and defense products and business operations. This role applies established trade compliance principles to interpret U.S. export regulations, assess licensing and authorization requirements, evaluate compliance risks, and resolve difficult trade compliance issues. The Senior Trade Compliance Administrator exercises sound judgment within established policies and procedures to support compliant business transactions and maintain accurate regulatory documentation.

Working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, contracts, legal, manufacturing, program management, human resources, security, and other business functions, this role supports export-controlled activities, regulatory compliance reviews, and process improvements that strengthen trade compliance, risk management, and operational effectiveness.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and assess export classifications, jurisdiction determinations, U.S. Munitions List (USML) categories, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) for hardware, software, technology, and technical data.
  • Review international shipments, technical data transfers, foreign-person access, and other export-controlled activities to identify authorization requirements and compliance considerations.
  • Conduct restricted-party screening, end-user/end-use due diligence, and compliance reviews to identify potential regulatory risks and restricted transactions.
  • Evaluate foreign-person employees, contractors, visitors, and other parties for export authorization requirements and support implementation of Technology Control Plans (TCPs).
  • Investigate compliance discrepancies, licensing conditions, and regulatory concerns to determine appropriate corrective actions and escalate issues beyond assigned authority.
  • Maintain export authorizations, TAAs, license provisos, classifications, screening records, and supporting documentation in accordance with regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, contracts, legal, human resources, security, operations, and program teams to address export compliance questions and support controlled business activities.
  • Provide guidance on established trade compliance requirements, licensing procedures, technology controls, and regulatory documentation to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes to ITAR, EAR, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and other applicable trade requirements to identify potential impacts to business activities.
  • Support internal and external compliance audits, investigations, training, regulatory reporting, and corrective action activities.
  • Recommend improvements to export compliance procedures, authorization tracking, documentation practices, and internal controls that strengthen regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, business administration, logistics, legal studies, or a related field with 5 - 8 years of related experience, or Master's degree in a related field with 3 - 6 years of related experience in trade compliance, export controls, regulatory compliance, export licensing, international trade, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. export controls, trade compliance principles, export licensing, regulatory classifications, and authorization requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ITAR, EAR, OFAC regulations, USML categories, ECCNs, jurisdiction determinations, and export-controlled technical data.
  • Working knowledge of Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Technology Control Plans (TCPs), foreign-person access, deemed exports, and technology transfer requirements.
  • Experience applying trade compliance procedures to export licensing, restricted-party screening, end-user/end-use reviews, regulatory documentation, and compliance assessments.
  • Proficiency with import compliance, customs documentation, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, customs valuation, country-of-origin requirements, product marking, and international trade practices.
