The Problems You'll Solve
As an Equity & Finance Analyst in our rotational ("RAMP") 12 month program, you'll work to:
- Use AI tools, scripting, and CLI-based workflows to complete tasks and automate real financial processes
- Support customers through both deliverable and client-facing work on 409A valuations, tax reporting, fund implementations, and portfolio data collection
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows and turn them into repeatable, scalable systems
- Provide feedback to engineering and product through testing, bug reporting, and process insights
- Become an expert in private markets, AI tools, and Carta's ERP vision
The Team You'll Work With
You'll be joining our auditable reporting services team, which supports multiple products and services including 409A Valuations, Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) Attestations, Fund Tax, Venture Capital & Private Equity Implementations, VC Financial Reporting, Portfolio Data Collection, and Capital Call Lines of Credit. This 12-month program rotates you across these teams to build deep expertise in private capital operations while developing systems thinking and automation skills that directly improve how our customers manage complex financial workflows.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
- Strong interest in AI and automation - you understand these as tools to augment thinking, not replace it
- Bias for action - you take ownership and don't wait for perfect instructions
- Knowledge of financial statements and common financial concepts
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to shifting priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diplomacy and poise under pressure
- Curious, competitive mindset - you want to be excellent, not just get a job
Nice to have:
- Exposure to financial concepts through coursework, internships, or personal interest
- Experience with Python, scripting, or basic technical tooling
- Familiarity with financial modeling in Excel
- Experience using AI tools (Claude, Gemini, etc.) thoughtfully in your work
