About Applied Intuition
Applied Intuition, Inc. is powering the future of physical AI. Founded in 2017 and now valued at $15 billion, the Silicon Valley company is creating the digital infrastructure needed to bring intelligence to every moving machine on the planet. Applied Intuition services the automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining and agriculture industries in three core areas: tools and infrastructure, operating systems, and autonomy. Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers, as well as the United States military and its allies, trust the company’s solutions to deliver physical intelligence. Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with offices in Washington, D.C.; San Diego; Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Ann Arbor, Michigan; London; Stuttgart; Munich; Stockholm; Bangalore; Seoul; and Tokyo. Learn more at applied.co.
We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About the Role
At Applied Intuition, you will sit directly at the intersection of System Integration and Validation. Rather than just running pre-written scripts, you will build and configure Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environments from scratch. We need a systemic thinker who thrives in ambiguity - someone who can take incomplete requirements, bridge functional gaps independently, and connect dots across the entire vehicle architecture while working closely with OEM partners.
What You’ll Do
Assemble, configure, and initialize dSPACE and Vector HiL test benches, lab cars, and test environments from the ground up for new projects.
Build and integrate complex vehicle simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and link them directly with HiL hardware systems.
Analyze high-level system requirements, bridge functional gaps, and design complete validation strategies - even when documentation is minimal or incomplete.
Develop robust automation scripts in Python to execute tests across simulated, bench, and prototype vehicle environments.
Configure vehicle communication networks and assets (ARXML, K-Matrix) across CAN, Automotive Ethernet, FlexRay, and LIN protocols.
Perform deep-dive failure analysis when tests fail, collaborating with core engineering teams and OEM partners to troubleshoot and resolve system-level bugs.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years in automotive systems validation, embedded systems, or hardware integration with broad exposure across multiple vehicle domains (e.g., ADAS, Powertrain, Body, Infotainment) rather than a single-domain focus.
Mindset & Ownership: Self-starter with a "can-do" attitude, high energy, and the independence to drive projects forward without waiting for perfect requirements or step-by-step instructions.
Hands-on experience building/configuring dSPACE (ControlDesk/ConfigurationDesk) or Vector hardware and software (CANoe, CANape).
Proficiency in Python for test automation and MATLAB/Simulink for vehicle model development.
Practical knowledge of automotive network protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, FlexRay) and network files (ARXML, K-Matrix).
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with AI / LLM-assisted coding workflows to optimize test generation and scripting.
Prototype vehicle bring-up and debugging experience in lab or track environments.
Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
