About this role
About Truemed
Our mission is to reverse chronic illness back to 1970s levels and make Americans healthy again. We will do this by shifting hundreds of billions of dollars away from our current broken healthcare system, and towards effective lifestyle interventions and prevention. Today's healthcare system spends less than 3% of the $4.3T in annual spending on prevention. This has to change.
Today, 95% of all medical costs go to treating illness. Our goal is to empower people to invest in healthy habits today rather than treating illness in the future. We do this by supporting these 5 habits that research shows are tied to significantly improved health outcomes:
1. Eating healthy food
2. Getting an adequate quantity and quality of sleep
3. Increasing movement and exercise and reducing sedentary behavior
4. Reducing chronic stress
5. Increasing sunlight and minimizing environmental toxins
Truemed enables patients to use pretax HSA/FSA funds to buy healthy food, exercise equipment, and supplements. We support brands like Peloton, Eight Sleep, Momentous, and hundreds of others. We're building the infrastructure that allows health and wellness merchants to accept the $150+ billion tied up in HSA and FSA accounts. By allowing consumers to spend these pre-tax dollars on goods that make them healthier, we'll incentivize consumers to invest in their health and begin to reverse the explosion in chronic illness that's plagued the US for the last 50 years.
Why This Role Matters
• Truemed's GTM and Operations teams rely on rigorous, timely analysis to move fast and make confident decisions - this role is the engine behind that capability.
• You sit at the intersection of data and decision-making, transforming raw inputs into the dashboards, models, and analyses that keep the business moving.
• By driving KPI clarity and enabling self-serve analytics, you reduce friction across the organization and free teams to act on insight rather than hunt for it.
About the Role
• This role requires enough technical depth to write SQL and work fluently inside our modern data stack, combined with the judgment and communication skills to turn findings into action.
What You'll Do
• Build and maintain dashboards that give leadership a real-time view of the business: revenue, merchant performance, transaction volume, and customer metrics.
• Deliver ad hoc analyses for GTM and Operations teams, translating business questions into clear findings and recommendations.
• Design and maintain datasets and models that empower business teams to self-serve.
• Use AI tools to move faster, automate repetitive analysis, and focus time on the work that drives the most impact.
What Success Looks Like
• Leadership has a reliable, real-time view of key business metrics and trusts the data behind it.
• GTM and Operations teams consistently get clear, actionable answers to their business questions.
• Business teams are increasingly self-sufficient, querying data confidently without relying on analyst support for routine questions.
• Repetitive analysis is automated, and your time is concentrated on high-leverage work.
Who You Are
• A clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - you translate complexity into decisions, not just deliverables.
• Proactive and intellectually curious: you explore data independently to uncover hidden insights and opportunities that drive meaningful business improvements.
• Comfortable working with dbt and modern data stack concepts, with enough familiarity to collaborate effectively with data and engineering teams.
• Efficient by nature - you reach for AI tools and automation when they help you move faster and think more deeply.
Qualifications
• 2 - 4 years of experience in an analytics-focused role.
• Strong SQL skills: you can independently query, validate, and explore data without engineer support.
• Strong proficiency with at least one BI tool - Omni, Looker, Metabase, Tableau, or similar - and a track record of building dashboards from scratch that teams use to drive decisions.
• Familiarity with dbt and modern data stack concepts sufficient to collaborate with data and engineering teams.
Compensation and Benefits
• Comp and equity in the top decile for Series A startups
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer sponsored HSA contributions
• 401(k)
• Unlimited PTO
• Coworking stipend
• L&D Stipend
• 2x/year company offsites and 2x/year team offsite
Location
• Los Angeles preferred / SF / Austin // Hybrid

About Truemed
TrueMed is a payments tool (think PayPal for HSA/FSA) that enables health and wellness brands to accept pre-tax HSA/FSA payments for eligible products. We partner with leading brands such as CrossFit, Magic Mind, and DB Method to help drive higher AOV (30%+ for many merchants), better month-two retention (40% increase), and greater LTV. Our integrations are simple, through an official Shopify payments app or lightweight code snippets, and typically take less than 30 minutes to set up, with no engineering required. Our mission is to unlock access to the $150B in HSA/FSA funds for qualifying health and wellness purchases, making it easy for customers to use tax-advantaged dollars on eligible products that support real medical needs. TrueMed was developed in collaboration with federal policy leaders on HSA/FSA modernization and top health experts including Dr. Mark Hyman.
