Medical Assistant - Fibroscan -Southlake, TX

As a Medical Assistant - FibroScan, you will provide hands-on clinical and patient support while performing FibroScan examinations in accordance with established protocols, manufacturer instructions, and the direction and supervision of the appropriate licensed clinical professionals.

You will be an important part of the clinical team, helping patients feel comfortable throughout their visit while ensuring FibroScan assessments and related clinical information are collected accurately, consistently, and in accordance with applicable standards and site procedures.

This role is well suited for a Medical Assistant who enjoys direct patient interaction, has strong attention to detail, and is interested in developing specialized experience with non-invasive liver assessment technology.

Where You’ll Drive Impact

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for scheduled clinical and FibroScan visits.
• Obtain and accurately document patient information, including height, weight, vital signs, and other measurements as directed by established protocols.
• Explain the FibroScan procedure to patients within the scope of the role and answer routine questions regarding the process.
• Position and prepare patients appropriately for FibroScan examinations.
• Perform FibroScan examinations in accordance with established site protocols, manufacturer instructions, and applicable training requirements.
• Obtain technically adequate measurements and repeat examinations when appropriate and permitted under established protocols.
• Recognize technical or procedural issues that may affect the quality of a measurement and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical team member.
• Document examination results and related information accurately in the applicable medical record or clinical research system.
• Support physicians, nurses, clinical research coordinators, and other members of the care team as directed.

• Support patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
• Assist with routine Medical Assistant responsibilities within the scope of training, applicable law, company policy, and delegated duties.
• Assist with clinical research visits and study-related procedures as trained and authorized.
• Follow study protocols, site procedures, applicable Good Clinical Practice requirements, and company policies when supporting research activities.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and appropriately stocked clinical environment.
• Perform routine equipment checks and notify the appropriate team member of equipment malfunction or maintenance needs.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, exposure-control, and emergency procedures.
• Participate in required training and maintain competency for all assigned clinical procedures.

What You Bring to the Team

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, clinic, research site, hepatology/GI practice, or other healthcare setting preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential preferred.
• Prior FibroScan experience preferred; willingness and ability to complete required FibroScan training and competency assessment required.
• Strong patient-service orientation and ability to establish rapport with patients.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate clinical documentation.
• Ability to follow standardized clinical procedures and protocols consistently.
• Ability to recognize when a patient concern or clinical finding requires escalation to a licensed healthcare professional.
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and other clinical technology.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.
• BLS certification preferred or required within a specified period of employment, based on site requirements.

• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical and office environments for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed
