The Opportunity - Senior Platform Engineer I - (Remote - CANADA)

Wrapbook is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer I who will play a hands-on role in driving our mission to build an outstanding technology company. You will be working as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with product, security, and analytics engineers to build and strengthen our internal developer and data platforms.

The Platform team is responsible for enabling Wrapbook to easily deliver a stable, secure, reliable and performant product to its customers.

What You'll Do:

• Own the observability, logging and alerting for Kubernetes clusters and critical workloads.

• Build and maintain automation for the lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters: provisioning, scaling, and upgrades.

• Own infrastructure cost-optimization workstreams: right-sizing, workload scheduling, and identifying waste in Kubernetes clusters.

• Partner directly with engineering teams to shape infrastructure decisions from design through deployment.

• Identify and root-fix reliability bottlenecks before they become incidents.

• Participate in on-call rotation to swiftly resolve issues related to any disruption to the services provided to our users.

• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and blameless postmortems for platform issues.

What You'll Have:

• 5+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles, including running Kubernetes in production at scale and handling day-two operations such as troubleshooting, upgrades, and scaling.

• Familiarity with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure).

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster autoscaling and workload scheduling systems (Karpenter, Cluster AutoScaler)

• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code systems such as Terraform, Crossplane, Pulumi, or equivalent tools.

• Hands-on experience with observability frameworks such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and eBPF.

• Familiarity with GitOps-based delivery and tools such as Argo CD and Kargo

• Proficient in managing and deploying Kubernetes applications using tools such as Kustomize and Helm

• Solid knowledge of Linux systems including low level fundamentals.

• A firm grasp of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS etc).

• Strong programming skills in at least one modern programming language, beyond basic scripting (Go, Python, Ruby).

• An AI-centric workflow - you are comfortable using AI as a real collaborator in your work.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with multi-region deployments on AWS or other cloud provider.

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals and/or the Kubernetes ecosystem, e.g., operators, CNIs, and service meshes.

• Exposure to or experience with operationalizing canary infrastructure.
