About this role

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to help us in our mission by leading the installation, commissioning, and debugging of electrical systems for various propulsion test benches. This is a hands-on position that demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring the success of our propulsion testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as an Electrical Technician, your role will be continuously evolving and often diverse, but day to day your duties will include:

  • Perform integration of sensors, actuators, power supplies, and control systems for various test benches

  • Manufacture and verify cabinets according to electrical schematics

  • Manufacture ground and flight harnesses

  • Support design engineers in optimizing the harness layout and routing for our engines

  • Troubleshoot various signals and electronic devices to resolve issues (data acquisition system, valve driver, power supply, exciter, etc)

  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to ensure system reliability

  • Collaborate with design engineers to enhance the performance and safety of test benches

  • Maintain accurate records of system installations, debugging processes, and maintenance activities

  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or similar (or years of equivalent professional experience as a substitute)

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

  • Proficiency using electronics equipment (e.g. DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs, etc.)

  • 2+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies

What we would love to see from you

In the role of Electrical Technician, you will ideally have the following:

  • Experience working on test facilities, ideally in aerospace, aviation, military, or other high-reliability industry

  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation

  • Hands-on experience with sizing, installing and troubleshooting various electronic components

  • Positive and flexible attitude in a constantly evolving environment

  • Grit to overcome obstacles and get the job done

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and partners in English

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards
