About this role
Join ShopMy - Powering the Future of Digital Marketing
ShopMy is transforming e-commerce by building the infrastructure for human-led curation at scale. We help brands run performance-driven creator programs while enabling top creators to monetize their influence and partner directly with the brands they love - driving discovery through trusted tastemakers and authentic recommendations.
ShopMy recently became a unicorn, raising at a $1.5B valuation with backing from Bessemer Venture Partners, Avenir Growth Capital, and Bain Capital Ventures.
At ShopMy, you're building the future of human-led commerce for the world's best brands, tastemakers, and shoppers. You move fast and see immediate impact in your work, alongside accomplished teammates who are driven by helping find the world's best things. If you’re excited to help shape the future of curated commerce at the intersection of technology, culture, and taste, we’d love to meet you.
Shopper is ShopMy's newest business and our biggest bet: bringing the platform that powers creator commerce directly to the millions of people who shop through it. As our first dedicated Shopper growth leader, you will own how ShopMy acquires, activates, and retains shoppers - turning a product that is still finding its footing into a habit for millions of users. This is a full-funnel role: getting people to download and use the app, and then turning them into weekly active purchasers who keep coming back.
Reporting to our VP of Marketing and working closely with our founders and product team, you will set the shopper growth strategy, own the shopper growth and retention budget, lead our initial team on day one, and earn the right to scale it as you prove out the business.
Roles and responsibilities…
- Growth Strategy: Own the full-funnel strategy for Shopper - from awareness and app installs through activation, purchase, and repeat - and set the north-star metrics we manage the business against (weekly active users, weekly active purchasers, etc).
- Acquisition: Build efficient, scalable user acquisition across paid, organic, referral, and partnership channels, with a clear point of view on channel mix, payback, and what to scale versus kill.
- Retention & Lifecycle: Design the lifecycle system that moves users through the funnel and brings them back - onboarding, push, email, in-app messaging, win-back - and grow it beyond promotions and discounting.
- Measurement & Attribution: Establish app measurement and attribution foundations (MMP, event tracking, cohort and funnel analysis) so we know what is actually working and can make resourcing calls with confidence.
- Content & Narrative Distribution: Partner with our editorial team to translate the product narrative into growth. Own how organic storytelling reaches the right shopper segments, and build the operational infrastructure that lets our best organic content flow into paid channels quickly and repeatably.
- Product Partnership: Work hand in hand with product and our founders on the shopper roadmap. Retention for an app is a product problem as much as a marketing one; you will bring the user perspective and growth data into what gets built.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of two (growth and lifecycle) from day one, owning the opportunity to hire and expand the team as the business grows.
- Cross-Functional Storytelling: Translate performance into clear narratives for leadership, and keep founders, product, and marketing aligned on where shopper is headed and why.
Your qualifications…
- Relevant Experience: 8+ years in growth, lifecycle, or consumer marketing, including several years leading growth for a consumer app. You have acquired users, not just customers.
- App Experience: Direct experience marketing to drive app downloads and engagement, including app measurement, attribution, and mobile lifecycle tooling.
- Full-Funnel Fluency: A deep, first-hand perspective on both efficient acquisition and retention - how to turn a new user into a repeat purchaser, and where most funnels leak.
- Retention Beyond Discounts: A track record of building loyalty through product value, habit, and community rather than promotion-heavy tactics.
- Analytical Rigor & Budget Ownership: Comfortable owning the numbers - cohort analysis, LTV/CAC, experimentation - and owning the full shopper budget, deciding where every dollar goes and being accountable for what it returns.
- People Leadership: Experience managing and developing a team, and a track record of raising the bar for more junior teammates.
- Builder Mindset: Comfortable operating scrappily with a small team, proving out a business before scaling it, and building from scratch rather than inheriting a mature machine.
- Product Partnership: Experience working closely with product and engineering, with an instinct for when the answer is a product change rather than a campaign.
- Industry Fluency: Experience growing a consumer technology product or marketplace where the goal is acquiring and retaining users, rather than simply driving conversion for a single brand.
