About the role

As a Senior Growth Engineer within the Product Engineering organization, you'll work at the intersection of product, marketing, and sales to drive user acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue growth. You'll build and optimize experiences that help new users onboard seamlessly, drive product adoption, and improve our ability to convert free users to paying customers. You’ll experiment rapidly, analyze user behavior, and implement changes that scale Semgrep’s growth engine.

The San Francisco Bay Area location is preferred but open to remote candidates currently located in PST or MST.

You will:

  • Develop and scale growth experiments across the funnel - acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization - using a mix of product, engineering, and data science techniques.

  • Build and optimize user experiences that drive self-serve adoption and expand usage within teams.

  • Leverage data and analytics to measure user behavior, uncover insights, and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to lead PLG and SLG motions.

  • Automate and enhance workflows for customer acquisition, lead qualification, and sales enablement.

  • Contribute to technical growth initiatives, such as in-app experiments, onboarding flows, and usage-based monetization models.

  • Own and improve growth infrastructure, including experimentation platforms, tracking systems, and data pipelines.

You are ideal for this role if you have:

  • Enthusiasm and experience with experimentation-driven approach to problem-solving

  • 4+ years of experience writing production software and building web applications. Our stack includes Python, Typescript, and Postgres

  • Exposure and experience using AI coding agents / tools

  • Excitement about building for customers, learning their needs, iterating fast, and seeing your solutions solve their core problems

  • Excellent and proactive communication, both verbal and written

Some examples projects you might work on include:

  • Collaborate across engineering teams to drive additional new user registrations and activations by reducing the barrier to try and adopt new AI product features

  • Generate personalized security rule sets for use in agentic workflows based on language and security needs

  • Building additional monetization capabilities tied to our AI features and future product SKUs to unlock additional revenue generation

Compensation

Hourly Range: $120-$160 per hour. The hourly rate will be determined based on a number of factors, which may include job-related skills, relevant experience, qualifications, location, and market data.
