About this role

Who We Are

Nuro believes self-driving vehicles are the most immediate and profound opportunity for AI to drive positive change in the physical world. Safer streets, more time for what matters, and easier access to the world around us, that’s why we’re building a universal autonomy platform: self-driving for all roads and all rides.

Founded in 2016, Nuro is a physical AI company developing Level 4 autonomous driving technology for a wide range of vehicles, use cases, and markets. Powered by the Nuro Driver™, our universal autonomy platform enables the global mobility ecosystem to deploy autonomy at scale, from robotaxis and logistics fleets to personal vehicles.

With years of real-world deployment experience and a flexible, partner-led business model, Nuro is working toward a future where millions of autonomous vehicles powered by our technology help make everyday life safer, easier, and more connected. Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Uber, NVIDIA, Google, Softbank, Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, and other leading investors.

About the Team

We're looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Fleet Platform & Operations Tooling team. You'll build the internal tools and platform systems that Nuro's operations, engineering, and partner teams rely on to manage, monitor, and maintain our autonomous vehicle fleet.

This is hands-on product engineering work at the intersection of fleet operations and software infrastructure. You'll own features end-to-end - from building responsive frontends that surface real-time vehicle and fleet data, to designing backend services that integrate with onboard systems, cloud infrastructure, and partner APIs. The systems you build will directly impact how reliably and efficiently Nuro operates vehicles on public roads.

You'll report to the Technical Lead Manager for On-Road Experience.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and ship full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, and modern web development practices.
  • Develop backend services and APIs that integrate with vehicle systems, cloud infrastructure, and external partner platforms.
  • Build tools that enable fleet monitoring, vehicle health tracking, maintenance workflows, and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, UX, Operations, and partner integration teams to define requirements and deliver user-facing products.
  • Own features end-to-end: scoping, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration based on user feedback.
  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, component libraries, and shared platform patterns used across the org.
  • Improve system reliability through testing, monitoring, alerting, and production support practices.

What You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript for building production web applications.
  • Solid understanding of web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, browser APIs, and modern frontend tooling.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful or gRPC APIs.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS).
  • Ability to work across the stack
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.

What We'd Love to See

  • Familiarity with real-time data systems: WebSockets, Pub/Sub, streaming pipelines.
  • Experience with Protocol Buffers and gRPC.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code.
  • Background in the autonomous vehicle, robotics, logistics, or automotive industry.
  • Experience working with partner or third-party integrations at scale.
  • Interest in frontend platform work: design systems, shared component libraries, and developer tooling.
