Your impact

In this role, you'll take ownership of some of Mollie's most complex accounts, including revenue, cost of sales, provisions and taxes, and lead regulatory reporting including DNB submissions. You'll be a driving force behind the full month end and year end close process, working closely with engineering, product and FP&A teams along the way.

This isn't a siloed accounting role. You'll work hands-on with live, high profile projects, helping shape how new products and integrations are accounted for from the ground up. You'll also present your own work directly to senior leadership, rather than having it filtered through someone else.

As Mollie scales its banking licence and expands its product lines, this role ensures the numbers behind that growth are accurate, compliant and clearly communicated. The team is also set to double in size, creating more opportunities as the function grows.

What you'll ship

• Deliver accurate, on time monthly and yearly close, including full ownership of complex accounts such as revenue, cost of sales, provisions and taxes

• Own regulatory reporting end to end, including DNB submissions and other required filings

• Take major finance related projects from kickoff through to launch, working closely with engineering and product

• Build financial solutions for business opportunities alongside FP&A, tax, operations and procurement teams

• Coach and support junior accountants, helping them grow their skills and confidence

• Prepare for and support external auditors through the annual audit, start to finish

What you'll bring

• A degree in accountancy and/or finance, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accountancy and/or finance, and a track record of using AI to drive productivity and improve processes through automation

• A post accountancy qualification such as ACCA, RA or CPA is preferred, though not a strict requirement. Strong fintech or general accounting experience without the certification will also be considered

• Experience managing complex accounts, including revenue, cost of sales, provisions and taxes

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP, along with tax accounting experience including CIT, VAT and WKR

• Experience with month end and year end close processes

• Comfortable presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and handling pushback

• Able to work independently and take ownership, almost like running your own mini function
