About this role
About Mandolin
Nearly every disease will become treatable in our lifetimes. Mandolin is laying the clinical and financial infrastructure to get groundbreaking treatments to patients faster, powered by AI agents.
Mandolin partners closely with the largest healthcare institutions in the US, covering more than $10B drug spend across the country. We're backed by Greylock, SV Angel, Maverick, SignalFire, and the founders of Vercel, Decagon, and Yahoo.
Why we need you
Mandolin is building the “last-mile” delivery infrastructure that gets cutting-edge biologics, cell, and gene therapies to patients faster. As one of our product engineers, you’ll be directly responsible for shaping the user-facing experiences that our customers rely on daily. This is a hands-on, full-stack role where you’ll bring new product features to life end-to-end - from backend architecture to polished front-end experiences - while establishing the technical patterns that will scale with our growth.
What you’ll do
Design, build, and ship full-stack product features across Mandolin’s core modules.
Collaborate closely with Product to scope requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
Own projects end-to-end: backend services, APIs, data flows, and front-end interfaces.
Establish engineering patterns and best practices that ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability as the product evolves.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making across the team.
Debug, test, and continuously improve our systems to deliver reliable experiences in healthcare-critical environments.
Stay close to customer needs by working alongside our PMs and implementation teams.
Must-have experience
4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong contributions to full-stack applications.
Proficiency with modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, or similar) and backend services (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, or similar).
Experience designing and consuming APIs, working with databases, and building secure, reliable systems.
Track record of owning projects end-to-end in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Strong communication skills and a product-minded approach - comfortable working directly with Product and our customers.
Nice-to-haves
Experience working in early-stage startups and shaping product from 0 to 1.
Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/observability tools.
Exposure to AI-driven products or agentic systems.

Compensation for this position will include a base salary, equity, and a variety of comprehensive benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $270,000. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
