About the Role

The Field and Event Marketing Manager is a hands-on role on Handshake's Marketing team. You'll build and execute field marketing and events across two distinct business lines: our Careers business (enterprise employers and higher education institutions) and Handshake AI (researchers and leaders at frontier AI labs and enterprise AI teams).

You'll own end-to-end strategy and execution for marquee experiences - major conference presence, executive dinners, VIP and sporting events, workshops, and roundtables - all designed to build pipeline, deepen customer relationships, and accelerate deal cycles. You'll report to the Sr. Manager of Field Marketing and work closely with executives and GTM leadership. The pace is fast and the expectations are high; we're looking for someone who's energized by that.

You're detail-oriented and thrive on ownership: when you commit to a project plan, nothing falls through the cracks. You're curious and creative, always asking "what haven't we tried?" You're comfortable contributing to budget conversations and vendor negotiations, and you know how to read campaign data to find what's working. You actively use AI to work smarter: streamlining workflows, drafting first-pass assets, and speeding up repetitive tasks.

  • Support strategy decisions and lead the execution of field, event, and marketing campaigns across both business lines

  • Own project plans for the entire lifecycle of an event (pre-, during-, and post-event), documenting and tracking with attention to detail

  • Contribute to budgetary and resourcing decisions for field and customer marketing activities, including vendor negotiation

  • Partner deeply with Sales leaders to identify where events can build and accelerate enterprise pipeline

  • Keep a pulse on field and customer campaign performance, providing insights for optimization using quantitative and qualitative data

  • Partner with Demand Gen, Content, Product Marketing, and Marketing Ops to execute integrated programs and assets, using AI to accelerate production

  • Measure and report on field program ROI: attendee feedback, pipeline influence, deal acceleration, and engagement

  • Help maintain our third-party event calendar and vendor relationships

  • Lead with creativity - always asking "what haven't we tried?"

  • Travel as needed for events (roughly monthly)

  • Assist in developing a complex, multi-initiative calendar - making smart trade-offs and surfacing clear recommendations to leadership

Desired Capabilities

  • 4+ years of field marketing and/or events experience

  • Experience executing multi-format programs: conferences, workshops, dinners, or webinars

  • Strong project management skills and comfortable juggling multiple workstreams under deadline

  • Clear, proactive communicator who collaborates well across teams

  • Actively uses AI tools to work smarter - drafting briefs, analyzing event data, or speeding up repetitive tasks

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, SplashThat (or equivalent), Salesforce, Marketo/Eloqua/HubSpot/Pardot, or virtual event platforms (Hopin, Goldcast, Zoom Webinar) is a plus

  • ABM, demand gen, and high-touch executive program experience is a plus
