About this role

Category & Pricing Analyst

The Role

Deliveroo Hop is Deliveroo's quick-commerce grocery services, delivering groceries and everyday essentials through a network of dark stores in partnership with major retailers. Launched first in Milan and now expanding to Rome and other Italian cities, Hop combines Deliveroo's delivery expertise with real-time inventory technology to bring the supermarket experience straight to customers' doors - fast, reliable, and always just a few taps away

Our team is looking for a highly analytical, strategic Category and Pricing Analyst to design, develop, and implement the frameworks that support Deliveroo Hop’s global commercial strategy. In this role, you will build the new initiatives, frameworks, and tools across Category Management, Pricing, and Promotions that allow us to scale efficiently across all international markets.

This is a high-impact, global role. You will work cross-functionally with international stakeholders while serving as the dedicated analyst for the Italy market, ensuring global frameworks are optimised for local success.

What you’ll be doing

  • Framework & Initiative Development: Design and deploy new, scalable frameworks for category management (range reviews), pricing strategies, and promotional activities across international markets.

  • Continuous Optimization & AI Integration: Constantly challenge the status quo by leveraging AI, automation, and advanced tooling to optimize commercial workflows and scale solutions globally.

  • Market Specialization (Italy): Act as the primary analytical partner for the Italian market, adapting global strategies to drive local growth and performance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, product, tech, and local commercial teams to align program strategies and translate complex data into actionable business plans.

  • Advanced Reporting: Build, maintain, and automate dashboards that synthesize multi-source data into digestible insights for leadership.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, and AI fluency for data automation and optimisation.

  • Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in project/program management, data analytics, or commercial strategy within e-commerce, retail, or the food-delivery sector.

  • Scale Mindset: Proven track record of owning a program end-to-end, with a specific focus on automating manual tasks and scaling processes through technology.

  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead data-driven discussions and influence stakeholders globally.

Languages: Fluent English and professional proficiency in Italian are required given the market focus.

Compensation

  • National Collective Agreement (CBA): CCNL Commercio e Terziario

  • Classification Level: Livello 3

  • The salary range for this role is €33,000 - €42,000 gross per year.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed above and is determined based on a number of job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

This position is not eligible for consideration for an equity/RSU grant.
