About This Role:

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager, Power Distribution and take ownership of the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex Engineered to Order (ETO) electrical equipment manufacturing projects. You are the central point of communication between internal teams and external stakeholders - converting customer requirements into buildable, attainable scope and then holding it there.

This role focuses on low voltage switchboard manufacturing and the skid integration of those switchboards into packaged assemblies. The scope includes: multiple concurrent orders run independently, integrated skid packages alongside standalone switchboard lineups, and direct accountability for the cost and schedule commitment on each. Power distribution programs live or die on submittal turnaround, long-lead component availability, and clean work packet release to the assembly line. You own all three, and you work shoulder-to-shoulder with production supervisors, test technicians, and the materials team on the floor every day.

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a proactive approach, exceptional organizational skills, a proven background in electrical equipment or industrial manufacturing, and a passion for driving project excellence. This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Low Voltage Switchboard Manufacturing and Skid Integration: Understand and align scope and process with internal and external stakeholders for UL 891 low voltage switchboard manufacturing and the skid integration of those switchboards into packaged assemblies.

• Project Planning and Execution: Set realistic project goals, develop comprehensive strategies, and maintain the production schedule at work-order level in alignment with assembly line loading and plant capacity to ensure on-time delivery.

• Submittal and Approval Cycle Ownership: Drive the customer submittal and drawing approval cycle to closure. This is the single most common source of schedule loss in electrical equipment and must be actively managed, not passively tracked.

• Long-Lead Material Management: Manage exposure on breakers, bus, metering, instrument transformers, and enclosures - plus skid structural and interconnect material - with Supply Chain against firm production start dates.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with estimating, engineering, procurement, production, and accounting teams to align project activities and resolve issues.

• Customer Communication and Management: Develop and implement effective communication strategies and provide regular updates to internal teams and external clients. Champion project change control, including customer change orders and requests for information.

• Budget Reporting and Forecasting: Manage order cost performance - labor hours against estimate, material variance, and change order capture - and report against baseline. You own the accuracy of your order cost model, maintain it to the PMO reporting standard and cadence, and sign the monthly cost-to-complete position that feeds the program economics review.

• Quality and Test Coordination: Partner with Quality leaders to ensure the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) is executed on time and to the applicable standards and specifications, including production testing, non-conformance closure, and customer witness testing where required.

• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide coaching and guidance to team members, ensuring clear understanding of tasks and efficient execution.

• Resource Management: Identify and allocate necessary internal and external resources to ensure project success.

• Executive Update Inputs: Complete the project-level portions of the sector executive dashboard on the published cadence - schedule position, milestone status, cost and margin position, and open risk. Your inputs are what gets reported upward, so their accuracy and timeliness are yours to own.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Industry Experience - Low Voltage Power Distribution Equipment: Working knowledge of low voltage switchboards, panelboards, bus systems, protective devices, and metering. Competent in electrical schematic and electrical code knowledge for collaboration with the in-house engineering department, manufacturing technicians, and authorities having jurisdiction for permit processing. Modularized electrical skid integration is preferred.

• Engineering & Constructability Competency: Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, elevation drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams, weigh in on aspects of designs, and advise on risks associated with design decisions. We are looking for someone to add value from an “I have to build this” perspective to provide productive feedback to our engineering group.

• Project Management Experience: Minimum of 5+ years managing projects within the electrical equipment, construction, engineering and/or manufacturing industry.

• Schedule Development & Management: Ability to create, manipulate and comprehend complex and evolving project schedules. Most of this work is collaboration based, but scheduling experience is required via Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com, Primavera P6, or Excel-based production schedules.

• Customer and Change Management: Experience with customer management and communication, maintaining positive client relationships. Ability to lock scope, identify scope creep, and manage change.

• Bachelor of Science: BS in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management or a closely related field. Equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience will be considered.

• Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing scheduling and the related factors that can impact project timelines.

• Submittal Cycle Management: Demonstrated experience managing customer submittal and approval cycles as a controlled schedule activity with aging and escalation.

• Cost Management: Ability to forecast and create a cost budget, and then manage said budget through completion of the project(s).

• Independent Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and effectively, ensuring timely and successful completion.

• Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and influence peers, ensuring collaborative project execution.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office for effective project documentation and communication. Experience with manufacturing ERP and MRP systems like SAP or Visual; experience with Acumatica is preferred.

• Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.

• Direct experience with UL 891 low voltage switchboard manufacturing, including skid-mounted or packaged assemblies.

• Data center construction experience or other mission-critical construction experience.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $120,000 -$135,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. (#INDMFG)
