About the Role:
Crusoe is seeking a seasoned Control Room Operator (CRO) to coordinate all on-shift operations at our power facility. This senior-level role is primarily responsible for the safe operation of all plant equipment across a variety of scenarios, ranging from cold plant startups to emergency operations during plant upsets. You will serve as an individual contributor within the Operations & Maintenance Department, making critical decisions on non-routine or escalated technical issues with limited supervision.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of using Distributive Control Systems (DCS) to monitor and adjust operating parameters. This role is vital for ensuring compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations while driving plant efficiency and safety. (#INDMFG)
What You’ll Be Working On:
Operational Coordination: Lead the coordination of all on-shift operations, ensuring the safe operation of plant equipment during normal and emergency scenarios.
System Monitoring & Control: Use Distributive Control System (DCS) computers to operate equipment and monitor parameters, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
Compliance & Safety Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to all local, State, and Federal regulations, as well as internal plant procedures.
Hazardous Materials & Security: Maintain plant security, handle and transfer bulk chemicals, and ensure safe storage and transport of waste materials.
Chemical Analysis: Perform chemical analysis and control on steam, cooling, and condensate systems, while meticulously maintaining chemistry logs.
Lockout Tagout (LOTO): Utilize RedTag PRO and other specialized software for the professional issuance of Lockout Tagouts to ensure personnel safety during maintenance.
Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve the most complex technical issues and independently prioritize responsibilities for specific functional areas.
Process Improvement: Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and provide strategic input to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Training & Mentorship: Provide advanced on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas and guide team members in task completion.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Experience: Generally 10+ years of directly related experience in a power plant environment.
Specialized Knowledge: Deep understanding of health and safety regulations, including working around hazardous energy, chemicals, and waste materials.
Technical Skills: Previous experience using test equipment, calibration appliances, and machinery repair/control systems.
Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
Decision Making: Proven ability to make competent decisions regarding non-routine technical issues and emergency operations.
Computer Proficiency: Skilled in using PC computers, Microsoft Office products, and specialized plant control software.
Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.
Bonus Points:
Advanced Education: Degree from a technical or vocational school, or relevant military service.
Certifications: Possession of advanced certifications or licensures relevant to power plant operations.
Equipment Operation: Experience operating heavy equipment such as manlifts and forklifts.

Compensation:
Compensation will be paid in the range of $50 - $58/HR + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
