About this role

Company Description

We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech - and we’re just getting started.

About this role: This is a high-impact role at the heart of our future talent engine. We are looking for an innovative Early Careers professional to be the face and leader of our NextGen brand in Mauritius. In this role, you aren't just a program manager; you are a brand ambassador and a community builder. We are seeking a product-minded problem solver who is excited to be "on the ground," leading our programs, partnering with universities, meeting the brightest talent in Mauritius and redefining what excellence looks like for our local early careers programs.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Leading our NextGen Brand: You will be the primary person representing us in the local market. Your goal is to make us the top choice for ambitious students and graduates through creative events and engagement.

  • Building University Partnerships: You will design and build high-quality, targeted university partnerships to find the best students from across the island. This is about more than just attending fairs; it's about creating deep, long-term links with faculty and career centers.

  • Creating Region Wide Pipelines: You’ll be responsible for building and nurturing talent pipelines across Mauritius and APAC, ensuring we have a diverse and high-performing pool of candidates ready for our Early Careers programs.

  • Designing Recruitment Strategies: You’ll create high-quality recruitment processes that help us find and assess the best talent. This includes designing assessment centers and ensuring every candidate has a great experience.

  • Managing the End-to-End Program: You will take care of the entire Early Careers journey. You’ll make sure the program runs smoothly from the moment a student applies to the day they finish their program.

  • Supporting Managers & Talent: A great program needs great support. You’ll work closely with hiring managers to give them the tools and training they need to mentor and manage early-career talent effectively.

  • Global Collaboration: You’ll work closely with our wider Early Careers team, including our Program Manager in London, to make sure our Mauritius program aligns with our global standards while still feeling right for the local market.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ambitious & High Energy: You don’t just want to "do" a job; you want to build something amazing. You bring a high level of energy to everything you do and are motivated by the chance to make a lasting impact.

  • Master of Stakeholder Management: You are excellent at managing expectations and building strong relationships with internal leaders. You can navigate different perspectives to ensure the program's success for everyone involved.

  • Creative Thinker: You think differently about Early Careers. You aren't afraid to challenge the status quo and come up with fresh, creative ideas to attract and engage the best talent on the island.

  • Natural Community Builder: You love being "on the ground." You’re a natural at building relationships, whether you're influencing university deans or inspiring a room full of students.

  • Problem Solver at Heart: You see challenges as opportunities. When you find a bottleneck or a gap, you don’t just report it, you design a meaningful solution to fix it.

  • Collaborative Spirit: You’re a team player who can partner effectively with our London-based team to bring global excellence to the local Mauritius market.

Why join:

This is a unique chance to own and grow our NextGen brand in Mauritius. You’ll have the autonomy to make a real impact locally while being part of a supportive, world-class global team. If you’re passionate about finding and developing the next generation of talent, we’d love to meet you.
