About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization - electricity - by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking person who can operate a 26ft box truck. This driver hybrid will mainly be responsible for making last mile deliveries as well as completing some warehouse tasks and operations. This position will primarily involve driving, physical labor, with responsibilities including receiving and organizing materials, kitting job kits, and operating equipment such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks. The successful candidate will also be responsible for driving a box truck, offloading pallets at residential locations, and maintaining a clean and organized truck and warehouse environment.

What You'll Do

  • Delivering Products: Safely and efficiently deliver packages or goods to residential and business addresses, ensuring all items are handled with care.

  • Equipment: Safely operating an electric powered pallet jack to move pallets in and out of the truck.

  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service when delivering products, answering questions, and addressing concerns as needed.

  • Pickup Tasks: Perform trash pickups from customers, ensuring any return items are properly accounted for and in good condition. Ensuring that the customers yard is free from any trash or debris.

  • Route Management: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized delivery vehicle. Perform basic maintenance checks, ensuring the vehicle is in good working order.

  • Documenting Deliveries: Accurately record delivery information, including times and addresses, on delivery apps or paperwork.

  • Inventory Management: Assist with loading and unloading products in the vehicle, ensuring all items are accounted for.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols for both driving and product handling.

  • Reporting Issues: Communicate any issues or delays in the delivery process, including damages, missing items, or road obstacles, to supervisors or dispatchers.

  • Receiving and Storing Inventory: Receive and inspect shipments of batteries, inverters, and other materials.

  • Accurately record items in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Kitting Job Kits: Create and assemble job kits based on Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring that all required items are included.

  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including sorting, storing, and labeling products.

What You'll Bring

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • 2+ years driving a 26ft box truck.

  • Experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or logistics.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack is a plus.

  • Ability to lift up to 75+ lbs frequently.

  • Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Must be comfortable with manual labor and working in a physically demanding environment.

  • Experience using delivery route systems.

About This Team

Our delivery and warehouse team ensures solar batteries, inverters, and installation equipment reach residential job sites on time and in perfect condition. We handle the last-mile logistics that determine whether thousands of families get their clean energy systems installed on schedule. Your work directly impacts our ability to scale - every efficient route, properly kitted job, and damage-free delivery means another home powered by renewable energy instead of the grid.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values

  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
