About this role
Treasury Intern - Sofia (6-month internship, extendable)
Take a look inside our Sofia office
Team description
Group Treasury sits at the heart of SumUp's financial operations, coordinating payments, cash flow and banking relationships across every market we operate in. As we roll out a new Treasury Management System (Kyriba) and strengthen the segregation of duties across our payment authorisation process, this intern will get a front-row seat to how a fintech manages risk and liquidity at scale. It's a genuine opportunity to learn treasury operations from the ground up, support a live system implementation, and see first-hand how payments, controls and audit come together in a regulated, fast-growing business.
What you'll do
- Support the coordination of payment processing and preparation of funding transfers across SumUp's legal entities
- Help manage and monitor user access controls as part of the team's segregation of duties process
- Assist with audit and KYC requests, gathering documentation and supporting the wider Treasury team
- Take part in the Kyriba treasury management system implementation, working closely with the responsible manager
- Support the update and documentation of Treasury procedures as processes evolve
- Work alongside colleagues in Payment Operations, Accounting, Tax and Controlling to keep payments running smoothly
You'll be great for this role ifβ¦
- Studying, or recently graduated in, economics, mathematics, finance or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to work.
- Comfort working with data, numbers and processes that require accuracy under time pressure.
- Fluency in English, with the confidence to work across international and intercultural teams.
- Genuine curiosity about treasury, payments and how financial risk is managed in a fast-growing fintech.
