About this role
Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate new opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. We have a staggering amount of work ahead, which means you’ll have a rare opportunity to help make the global economy accessible to everyone - while doing the most impactful work of your career.
About the team
The Product Design team is made up of several groups that define, create, and deliver all user-facing aspects of Stripe’s brand and product. Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management within their product area. In close collaboration with product teams, they shape user experiences, then translate them into high-quality designs that can be tested, shipped, and refined. Designers are responsible for building elegant, functional products that users love - and want to tell others about.
What you’ll do
The Dashboard team ensures Stripe works seamlessly for every merchant - regardless of how their business is structured or which products they use. Our goal is to make Stripe feel like it was built just for them.
Responsibilities
- Proactively connect business goals to product opportunities
- Anticipate needs and articulate a compelling product vision
- Collaborate across design, product, and leadership to shape strategy and align roadmaps
- Present work regularly to leadership; synthesize and act on feedback to rapidly refine solutions
- Champion craft and product excellence through example
- Communicate ideas through high-fidelity prototypes and compelling storytelling
- Develop durable, scalable design frameworks that raise the bar for craft company-wide
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 10+ years of relevant design experience at a tech, product-driven company
- Skilled at operating independently to turn ambiguous, cross-functional problems into clear, cohesive visions
- Experienced in partnering closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to drive design strategy
- Able to navigate complexity and distill it into simple, intuitive solutions
- Adept at translating business objectives into customer-centered design opportunities
- Confident presenting work to company leadership and skilled at communicating design decisions through clear, compelling storytelling
- Strong visual design and craft skills
Preferred qualifications
- Able to balance bold vision with thoughtful, incremental rollouts
- Experienced in mentoring or leading peers and junior designers, either as a design manager or senior IC
